Hi, my name is Annalina.
I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with an Engineering Innovation minor at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. I will be graduating in December 2022! Throughout my college education, I have completed research, an internship, and several projects that highlight my skillset and knowledge gained. From these experiences, I have realized that my interests revolve around front end development and user interface design.

Research

The Intelligent Natural Interaction Technology (INIT) Lab
University of Florida
Dr. Lisa Anthony
Undergraduate Research Assistant
May 2022 - August 2022

Project 1: Enabling Knowledgeable Task Guidance In The Extremes (ENKIx)
This project is funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) through their Perceptually-enabled Task Guidance (PTG) program. The overarching goal of this project is to be able to utilize augmented reality with a task guidance system in the current context of cooking but will later be translated into fields like battlefield medicine and mechanical repair. In this project, we collected our data through 8 cooking sessions and analyzed our data through identifying breakdowns and opportunities, creating an affinity diagram, and forming user needs. We then developed paper prototypes of a user interface that addressed these needs. In parallel, I also worked through Unity tutorials in preparation for the user interface for this project.

Project 2: Continuous Authentication (CA)
This project is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and is in collaboration with the University of South Florida. This project focuses on continuous authentication, where authentication of a user happens on an ongoing basis, and how it can benefit the lives of users across all age groups. In this project, my main contribution was recruitment for families at various public places.

Internship

L3Harris Technologies
Software Engineer Intern
May 2021 - July 2021
During this internship, I performed a trade study for graphing packages for an interface by creating various prototypes to test load handling. Upon identifying the best package to meet our needs, I created a preliminary design with UML diagrams that was followed by a detailed design, and I presented all material to the development team. My team utilized sprints and peer reviews to assess code status using Jira.

"She demonstrated motivation to effectively complete her tasks, some of which were more challenging than typically given to interns. She also did this with a higher degree of independence than expected for her level."

Projects

myHipRehab: A Mobile Health App
Digital Health with Dr. Sumi Helal (Spring 2022)
In collaboration with the College of Human and Health Performance
myHipRehab is a mobile health application for patients that require rehabilitation post-hip surgery. The program is comprised of seven exercises that feature a demonstration by means of a GIF, number of sets, reps, resistance, and tempo. After clicking "Next Exercise", the user is brought to the "Pain Feedback" dialog in which the user is to select if any pain was encountered during the exercise. Upon finishing the program, the user is brought to a congratulatory page where the user is rewarded with a virtual trophy to add to their collection.

☆ Developed using Flutter SDK, Dart, and Android Studio ☆
JMW Services Website Design
User Experience Design with Dr. Sanethia Thomas (Spring 2022)
JMW Services is a local, family-owned construction company that was seeking a design for their website. My group and I conducted focus groups to formulate user needs for both the employee and customer side. We also created paper prototypes, wireframes, storyboards, task flows, and personas that all contributed to the final interactive prototype.
